Hell on Wheels is an American dramatic television series created and produced by Joe and Tony Gayton. Set in 1865, the series focuses on the regulations that accompanied the construction of the transcontinental railroad, known as "Hell on Wheels" by businessmen, surveyors, support staff, workers, prostitutes, mercenaries, and others who do the field a mobile home. It stars Anson Mount as Cullen Bohannon, a former Confederate soldier who works as a foreman on the railroad in its attempt to locate the Union soldiers who murdered his wife.
The series was sent to the United States and Canada on cable channel AMC and created 6 November 2011. It was developed by Endemol USA, led by senior vice president of programming scripts Jeremy gold, and is produced by Entertainment One nomadic and images.
